General description | This course introduces students to the field of two computer tools. The first one is remote sensing and we will focus on their physical principles and some digital treatment to study the environment. The second tool is Geographical Information Systems (GIS). This part of the course focuses in learning the different data types that are storaged in this type of programmes and the main spatial operations that we use in environmental studies. The course is supplemented by lab components. The labs will include practical assignments and computer-based analysis of remotely-sensed images and maps. The labs are primarily devoted to learning how to use image processing software –ENVI- and GIS - ArcMap. English friendly subject. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
