Descripción general La asignatura se centra en la comprensión y conocimiento del patrimonio arquitectónico y monumental en los periodos históricos más relevantes de Occidente, con especial atención al caso hispano y regional. Se profundiza en su análisis, comprendiéndolo como un recurso turístico, interpretando su valor y gestionando sus posibilidades de desarrollo cultural y económico. This subject focuses on the understanding and knowledge of architectural and monumental heritage in the most relevant Western historical periods, with special attention to the Hispanic and regional case. Its analysis is deepened, understanding it as a tourist resource, interpreting its value and managing its possibilities of cultural and economic development.

Dirigidas - Clases teóricas (expositivas-participativas): se explican los contenidos de la asignatura mediante exposición oral y exponiendo diferentes cuestiones y problemas que inviten a la reflexión del alumnado. Una parte de estas clases podrá desarrollarse fuera del aula con el objetivo de conocer los edificios y experimentar su espacialidad, iluminación, etc. - Ejercicios prácticos: análisis de edificios paradigmáticos y estudios de caso con el objetivo de complementar las clases teóricas. - Theoretical classes (expository-participatory): the contents of the subject are explained through oral presentation and exposing different issues and problems that invite students to reflect. A part of these classes can be developed outside the classroom with the aim of knowing the buildings and experiencing their spatiality, lighting, etc. - Practical exercises: analysis of paradigmatic buildings and case studies with the aim of complementing the theoretical classes.
Supervisadas - Trabajo de campo en la ciudad de León y alrededores: prácticas en edificios históricos para asentar los conocimientos adquiridos en las clases teóricas y llevarlos a la práctica. - Elaboración de las pruebas de la asignatura: asesoramiento bibliográfico, orientación en la exposición de problemas e hipótesis, revisión durante el proceso de recogida de información, etc. con el objetivo de comprobar la adquisición de recursos, conocimientos, herramientas y destrezas que conduzcan a la comprensión de la relevancia y practicidad de los usos y funciones del patrimonio arquitectónico y monumental en el marco de su aprovechamiento turístico. - Tutorías grupales: se prestará atención personal al estudiantado, tanto en cuestiones relativas a los contenidos de la materia como en diversos asuntos relacionados con su experiencia discente. Estas se programarán en formato grupal en el aula con la idea de tratar aquellas cuestiones que son necesarias a todos por igual. - Fieldwork in the city of León and surroundings: practices in historic buildings to settle the knowledge acquired in the theoretical classes and put it into practice. - Preparation of the tests of the subject: bibliographic advice, orientation in the presentation of problems and hypotheses, review during the process of collecting information, etc. with the aim of verifying the acquisition of resources, knowledge, tools and skills that lead to the understanding of the relevance and practicality of the uses and functions of the architectural and monumental heritage within the framework of its tourist use. - Group tutorials: personal attention will be paid to the students, both in matters related to the contents of the subject and in various matters related to their student experience. These will be programmed in group format in the classroom with the idea of dealing with those issues that are necessary to all equally.

Se prestará atención personal al estudiantado, tanto en cuestiones relativas a los contenidos de la materia como en diversos asuntos relacionados con su experiencia discente. Estas se programarán en formato grupal en el aula con la idea de tratar aquellas cuestiones que son necesarias a todos por igual. Además, el profesorado estará a disposición del estudiantado para realizar tutorías individuales en su despacho y tratar de aquello que estimen oportuno.

Personal attention will be paid to the students, both in questions related to the contents of the subject and in various matters related to their student experience. These will be programmed in group format in the classroom with the idea of dealing with those issues that are necessary to all equally. In addition, the teaching staff will be available to the students to carry out individual tutorials in their office and try what they deem appropriate.

Realización y exposición de trabajos. Se llevarán a cabo lecturas específicas y contrapuestas sobre diferentes interpretaciones del patrimonio arquitectónico con el objetivo de generar un criterio particular. Cada alumno preparará la defensa de su postura en una exposición que se desarrollará en formato de debate.

Specific and opposed readings will be carried out on different interpretations of architectural heritage with the aim of generating a particular criterion. Each student will prepare the defense of their position in an exposition that will be developed in a debate format. 		20%
Pruebas mixtas Creación, redacción y exposición de un itinerario cultural centrado en el patrimonio arquitectónico.

Creation, writing and exhibition of a cultural itinerary focused on architectural heritage. 		50%
Pruebas de desarrollo Se realizará un trabajo académico sobre un movimiento o corriente arquitectónica del entorno leonés.

An academic work will be carried out on a architectural movement or tendency of the Leonese environment. 		20%
Otros Se valorará positivamente la presentación voluntaria de cualquier trabajo o realización de tareas relacionadas con la materia, además de lo expuesto.

The voluntary presentation of any work of tasks related to the subject, in addition to the above, will be positively valued.
 
Otros comentarios y segunda convocatoria

Para aprobar la asignatura cada estudiante deberá alcanzar, al menos, el 50% de la puntuación en cada uno de los apartados evaluables. En todos ellos se tendrá en consideración la adquisición de los conocimientos teóricos y de las competencias genéricas y específicas trabajadas durante la impartición de la asignatura.

Los trabajos presentados podrán ser revisados con un programa informático antiplagio. En caso de obtener más de un 20% de coincidencias en el total del cuerpo del texto (excluyendo bibliografía) en cualquiera de las pruebas de evaluación escritas regirá el procedimiento establecido en las "Pautas de actuación en los supuestos de plagio, copia o fraude en exámenes o pruebas de evaluación", aprobadas en Comisión Permanente del Consejo de Gobierno de la Universidad de León el 29 de enero de 2015. Por lo tanto, cualquier evidencia de plagio se calificará como suspenso (0,0) en la parte afectada de la evaluación de la asignatura.

Estos criterios de evaluación se mantendrán en la segunda convocatoria con una excepción: el porcentaje reservado a la calificación de las exposiciones o intervenciones en el aula desaparecerá, pasando todo el peso de estas partes de la evaluación al desarrollo del trabajo escrito.

Aquellos estudiantes que no puedan seguir la programación conforme a lo planificado deberán justificarlo y contactar con el profesor al comienzo del curso para, en caso de no poder asistir con asiduidad a las clases y participar en las tareas programadas, consensuar el proceso de evaluación continua que se seguirá en tal situación.

El alumnado tendrá la posibilidad de elegir la opción de realizar la asignatura en la modalidad English Friendly. A través de esta alternativa el estudiante recibirá en inglés: las sesiones de tutorías individuales, bibliografía general para el seguimiento y desarrollo de la asignatura, bibliografía específica para la adecuada elaboración de las pruebas evaluables y la posibilidad de realizar y entregar las mismas también en inglés, así como tantos otros recursos sean necesarios para superar la asignatura.

To pass the subject, each student must achieve at least 50% of the score in each of the evaluable sections. In all of them, the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and generic and specific skills worked during the teaching of the subject will be taken into consideration.

The papers presented may be reviewed with an anti-plagiarism software. In case of obtaining more than 20% of coincidences in the total body of the text (excluding bibliography) in any of the written evaluation tests, it will govern the procedure established in the "Pautas de actuación en los supuestos de plagio, copia o fraude en exámenes o pruebas de evaluación", approved by the Comisión Permanente of Consejo de Gobierno of the Universidad de León on January 29, 2015. Therefore, any evidence of plagiarism will be graded as failure (0.0) in the affected part of the evaluation of the subject.

These evaluation criteria will be maintained in the second call with one exception: the percentage reserved for the qualification of the expositions or interventions in the classroom will disappear, passing all the weight of these parts of the evaluation to the development of the written works.

Those students who cannot follow the schedule as planned must justify it and contact the teacher at the beginning of the course (in case of not being able to attend classes regularly and participate in the scheduled tasks) to agree on the process of continuous evaluation that will be followed in such a situation.

Students will have the possibility to choose the option of develop the subject in the English Friendly modality. Through this alternative the student will receive in English: individual tutorial sessions, general bibliography for the monitoring and development of the subject, specific bibliography for the adequate preparation of the evaluable tests and the possibility of carrying out and delivering them also in English, as well as many other resources are necessary to pass the subject.
