Methodologies |
Description | |
Problem solving, classroom exercises | The proposal and resolution of numerical problems in order to apply the various procedures and tools previously explained in each subject. The teacher may ask the student to solve certain exercises outside the classroom. |
Assignments | Carrying out a monographic group work so the students can use the knowledge acquired throughout the course. This work will be made up of three milestones: delivery of an advance of about 2 pages (Milestone 1), delivery of the monograph (Milestone 2) and its presentation (Milestone 3) by all the members of the team. The completion and delivery on the date stipulated by the teacher of all milestones is mandatory. |
Lecture | Theoretical-practical classes for the oral presentation of the contents of the subject (with the help of a blackboard, projector and support materials available on the web), as well as for the resolution and discussion of problems and practical cases previously worked on by the students. The teacher will motivate the active participation of the students, trying to intersperse the use of their words with intervals of teacher-student dialogue. This active participation will come from two areas; on the one hand, from the possible doubts or comments that may arise from the student as a consequence of the teacher's explanation and, on the other hand, it will be the teacher himself who may also ask questions to the audience (of reasoning of the theoretical contents explained or about real situations or situations close to reality directly related to the content of the subject), trying to get answers and generate debate in order to enrich the presentation. |

Assessment |
Description | Qualification | ||
Lecture | Two exams with independent theoretical and practical content. The first one, with a value of 25%, will take place halfway through the course and the second one, with a value of 25%, at the end of the course. The teacher will explain in the classroom the more specific aspects of the evaluation process and the development of the classes. Both tests will account for 50% of the final grade and the student must achieve a minimum mark of 4 points in each of the exams. |
50% |
|
Problem solving, classroom exercises | As continuous assessment, exercises will be carried out in class on the topics explained. The evaluation of the practical content accounts for 30% of the final mark for the course and requires attendance at all practical sessions in order to obtain the maximum mark. If a student misses any of the practical sessions (except for justified reasons), he/she will receive a mark equal to 0 points (scale 0-10) in the case of no-shows. |
30% | |
Final paper, which will account for 20% of the grade, and in which the aim is for students to acquire an overview of the subject, with special emphasis on the structure of the work, as well as the originality, breadth and depth of its content. The teacher will explain in the classroom the more specific aspects of the evaluation process of the work. | 20% |

To pass the subject in continuous assessment it is necessary to obtain an average mark of 5 points throughout the course (marks of the partial written tests plus all the tests carried out in the classroom that make up the continuous assessment). In order to pass the subject in continuous assessment, it will be necessary to obtain, at least, an average score of 4 points in each of the two theoretical tests and to have attended and correctly completed 80% of the cases, exercises, etc. To pass the subject in the first ordinary exam, the student will take a theory exam (65% of the final mark) and a practical exam (35% of the final mark). In this case, students who have passed the practical classes with the continuous assessment will not take the practical exam. In order to pass the course in the second or December exam, the student will take an exam with theory and practical concepts. During the tests, no material may be handled except for that expressly indicated by the teacher. The possession and use of mobile and/or electronic devices during the tests is strictly forbidden. The simple possession of such devices, as well as unauthorised notes, books, folders or other materials during the assessment tests, will result in the immediate withdrawal of the exam, expulsion from the same and a failing grade, and the incident will be reported to the Academic Authority of the Centre so that they can carry out the actions set out in the Guidelines for Action in Cases of Plagiarism, Copying or Fraud in Exams or Assessment Tests, approved by the Standing Committee of the Governing Council on 29 January 2015. |

Note: The programme, the teaching methodology and the assessment and grading systems may undergo modifications, of which students will be notified sufficiently in advance by the usual means. In addition, the assessment and grading systems may be subject to exceptional situations that will be suitably assessed by the subject teacher. |
