Description | |
Seminars | Seminars and audiovisual sessions (videos) prior to clinical classroom practices. Each of the seminars (audiovisual sessions) will last 1 hour, and will be scheduled prior to the corresponding practices in the clinical classroom, with an approximate frequency of one session every three weeks, developing a total of 5 seminars: S.1. General exploration methods. S.2. Head and neck examination. S.3. Chest examination. S.4. Abdominal examination. S.5. Examination of the nervous, locomotor and breast systems. |
Clinical practicums | Clinical examination practices with healthy animals in a clinical classroom. These practices will be carried out on 3 animal species (horse, cow and dog). Each student will do 15 practices lasting 1 hour (total 15 hours/student), distributed in: A.1. General exploration methods. General exam (3 practices of 1 hour). A.2. Head and neck examination (3 1-hour practices). A.3. Chest examination (3 1-hour practices). A.4. Abdominal examination (3 practices of 1 hour). TO 5. Examination of the nervous, locomotor and breast system (3 practices of 1 hour). To facilitate the completion of these practices, the course will be divided into small groups. A.6. Additionally, a review practice will be carried out, complemented by the preparation of a Clinical History, in healthy or sick animals (1 hour and 30 minutes) in each species. This clinical history, carried out in small groups of students, must be delivered for correction and evaluation. |
Assignments | Directed autonomous work. Resolution of clinical cases or issues related to some of the parts of the subject program, especially with Dermatological Semiology and Semiotechnics (T-11), the Nervous System (T-27 and T-28), Transfusions (T-7) and Interpretation of Laboratory Analysis (T-8). Assessment of skills, demonstration and verification of learning results. |
Lecture | Theoretical classes. In each session, the key and most relevant aspects of each topic in the program will be presented, with a total of 30 classes. |

Assessment |
Description | Qualification
Seminars | Assistance and participation. | 5 %
Clinical practicums | Assistance and participation. | 5 %
Assignments | Assessment of work, clinical histories, reports, etc. | 10 %
Practical tests | Small animal exploration. Cow exploration. Equine exploration. |
40 % | |
Mixed tests | Theoretical knowledge will be evaluated through multiple response questions (test) and short development questions. Between 20 to 40 multiple response questions (test) with only one correct answer will be proposed. Correct answers will score one (+1), wrong answers will subtract half a point (-0.5). The score for this part is graded from 0 to 10. The short development questions will be graded from 0 to 10. This test will contribute 40% to the final grade. | 40 %
Others | It will be essential to obtain at least 35% of the grade in each of the sections (theoretical exam and practical exam).
