Methodologies |
Description | |
Clinical practicums | These mandatory and in-person practices are carried out in the facilities of the Veterinary Hospital by small groups of students in each session, together with Infectious Diseases Subject. The duration is 5 hours each subject (total 10h). Students must learn diagnostic and therapy method with ill animals as well as prevention of transmissible diseases of domestic carnivores. |
Seminars | Fundamental aspects of parasitic diseases will be explored in depth through interactive theoretical presentation (Practices I, J and K); These mandatory seminars will be face-to-face in three separate sessions, each lasting two hours, and this for each of the two groups of students. |
Laboratory practicals | These mandatory practices will be face-to-face and they are aimed at instructing the student in the various techniques for diagnosing parasitic diseases. The six laboratory practices (B, C, D, E, F and G) will last two hours each, for each group of students. |
Field work/trips | Visits will be made to various livestock farms, in which the student will accompany a collaborating veterinarian in their daily professional activity. The attendance and the redaction of a report will be mandatory at least in one visit. |
Personal tuition | Individualized face-to-face attention and group attention in those teaching activities which could be required |
Lecture | Theorical sessions in the classroom will be in person. During them, the theorical contents of the subject will be presented, through visual presentations or other support. |

Lecture | A midterm exam and an official final exam to evaluate theorical acquired knowledge. | 60% of definitive mark.
Mixed tests | Written exam to evaluate acquired practical knowledge. | 30% of definitive mark.
Other comments and second call
It is mandatory to pass both theorical and practical exams. For the first call of the ordinary evaluation (January), the pass of the partial exam will be kept. In the second call (extraordinary evaluation in February), the passing mark for the entire theoretical part and/or the practical part obtained in the ordinary evaluation will be maintained. When carrying out exams and evaluation tests, only the use of necessary office supplies is permitted. The applicable consequences for the use of any other resource will be the immediate withdrawal of the exam, the expulsion of the student from the exam and the mark of 0.0. |
