"To achieve a mark in continuous assessment, students must do the following tasks: Six out-of-class writing assignments. Two oral tasks carried out in class: one presentation and one debate. Prescribed readings. Listening assignments in the language laboratory. " "

"Assessment will be based on marks given for: i) final written examination (including an interview) ii) writing and speaking assignments. The final examination is similar in level and format to the Cambridge Proficiency Examination and is divided primarily into five sections: reading, speaking, writing, listening and language in use. To obtain a pass mark all students are required to pass the final examination. In order to pass the examination students are required to pass all five papers (pass = 50%). In the case of continuous assessment, the final examination will count as 60% of the final mark, while continuous assessment, based on writing and speaking assignments and on participation in class, will account for 40% of the final mark." "
