General description Study of the different theoretical aspects that define comparative literature as a discipline. Introduction to the practical application of such theories in the different works. This course aims to provide the students with an introduction to comparative literature from its beginning and development in Europe and the United States to its current state, paying special attention to the main areas of comparative study (thematics, study of myths, influence and intertextuality, genders). The works selected for the practical study belong both to the English field and to the Spanish, and those that do not belong to them, will be studied in their English or Spanish version. The course will devote special attention to the Bible, due to its literary nature. "
