General description This subject studies the history of Ancient Rome, from its formation to the fall of the Roman Empire and the emergence of barbarian kingdoms. So, the chronological scope is large, VIIIth B.C.-Vth A.D. centuries. The politics, social changes, ideological frameworks are the main topics. The formation of Rome, the age of the kings, the Republic, the expansion, the crisis of the Republic, the Principate, and the late Roman period are the periods included in the course.
