General description Romance languages are a group of related languages all derived from Vulgar Latin and forming a subgroup of the Italic branch of the Indo-European language family. The objective of this course is to examine in considerable detail the linguistic development and structure of Romance languages. The focus of the course will be on their historical development from Latin: substract, superstract, Romanization, Romance languages and dialects development.
