General description This course presents the basic concepts in linguistics, and the various models that have dealt with the analysis of language and / or languages. There will be special emphasis on those models that have been taking shape since the publication of the Course in General Linguistics (1916), de Saussure. Passing by this text linguistics and unscientific atomistic above confronts us with a different picture, in which multiple inflections fit. The analysis of the major stages, movements and schools of European and American linguistics-the similarities and differences between them-after that date are the subject of this course.
