General description This course explores 20th and 21st Century North American Literature. Students will analyze genres and authors within their specific literary and social contexts. This course also explores the concept of “postmodernism beginning with an explanation of “modernism”, looking at cultural and philosophical assumptions. Topics may include relations between prose fiction and cinematic adaptation.
