General description The course presents the main trends in contemporary philosophy of language from an argumentative viewpoint. Fundamental open problems regarding natural language, the nature of mind and content, the intentionality of action and meaning are presented and discussed from distinct scientific backgrounds and philosophical traditions. Conceptual tools are offered to achieve the students own comprehensive and critical argumentation. Textual and visual materials will be given, together with course notes and handouts. The methodology includes debates, seminars and exercices
