General description The aim of the subject is to introduce the discipline “Information Science” in the current Information and Knowledge Society. It provides a knowledge base of the context on which the student will develop their professional work. The subject provides a conceptual background and terminology on Scientific Documentation and Information Systems. It also aims that students know the professional environment that provides access to this Degree. It relates, therefore, with other subjects in the degree and, in particular, those involved in development strategies, promotion, management and dissemination of information services.
