General description Bibliographic description of any type of document for the creation of the bibliographic record, applying ISBD standards and their representation in MARC format for automated data processing.

Methodologies
Methodologies   ::  
  Description
Lecture Lectures will be given at the beginning of each unit, to present the contents and guidelines for the unit together with the main resources for their study. Given the non-compulsory nature of the student's attendance. The presentation of each unit will be done in the academic environment of Moodle using participation resources offered by the platform.
Problem solving, classroom exercises Resolution of bibliographic description of documents and debates on the proposed readings. In addition, of the topics that have been raised in the different forums
Practicals using information and communication technologies (ICTs) in computer rooms Automated description activities and capture of bibliographic records will be carried out in the computer classroom in order to compare results. There will be practical assignments in the topic on cataloging in Bibliographic Management Systems
Tutorship of group There will be 5 face-to-face sessions and 2 virtual ones in which specific aspects of student learning will be addressed.
Forums of discussion In each topic, there will be a discussion forum with questions and problems in which the students and the instructor will participate.
Personal tuition There will be 3 individual tutorials in the academic environment of Moodle.

Group tutorials will be announced for the hours scheduled for the course.

Individual tutorials will be at the instructor's Office at a time that can be consulted on the Library Science and Documentation Area website http://abd.area.unileon.es/personalbloc.php

Portfolio monitoring tutorials will be held in the teacher's office, prior notice.

Assessment

Forums of discussion Participation and the level of the response will be considered, as well as the help provided by the students themselves in solving problems. 5%
Problem solving, classroom exercises Resolution of bibliographic description activities using the Cataloging Rules and in MARC format. 45%
Mixed tests The final evaluation will consist of the resolution of 3 cases of bibliographic description using the Cataloging Rules and the MARC format. 50%
 
Other comments and second call

The final grade of the course will be the sum of the exam and the continuous evaluation, being necessary to pass both parts independently.
