| General description |
The aim of the subject is to reach skills to search and retrieve information effectively using conventional information retrieval systems as well as applications and tools developed for information retrieval on the web. It gives an understanding of key concepts in information retrieval and models of organizing and retrieving information; nature of user information needs and implications for information organization and information retrieval. Likewise, it gives an overview of the evolution and development of information retrieval systems and electronic information industry. Theory and research in seeking, searching and retrieving information are relevant challenges for information professionals |
