General description Human resources are a key part of business competitiveness in todays knowledge age. In the current economic scenario, the companys competitive advantage lies increasingly in the collective talent of its people, rather than their physical assets or financial resources, given the recognition given to them to be strategic assets. It is therefore essential to know the keys to good management of staff to direct the behavior of members of an organization towards achieving business goals. Taking into account that this human resource practices must be aligned with the contextual factors in which the company operates and, moreover, must be internally consistent.

Methodologies   ::
  Description
Case study The cases represent a variety of real-life problem situations to be studied, analysed and reasoned solutions generated. The student will have to bring the case previously prepared for discussion in groups. Students who do not attend class regularly will have to solve the cases assigned to them individually and post their answers in the assignments that will be opened in the moodle platform respecting the dates established for this purpose.
Assignments It will be required the completion in groups of no more than four people, of a work on the contracting part of the course. Students who attend class regularly will have to present and defend it on the dates established and will be exempted from taking the exam on this subject. Students who choose not to attend class will have to take an exam on this block, which they will have to prepare on their own, using the manuals included in this teaching guide. They will also have to do the above mentioned work individually.
Simulation The student will have to deal with real-life simulations in which he/she will have to provide a reasoned solution, drawing conclusions related to the subject of study.
Personal tuition They will consist of questions on the subject or advice on how to carry out the work.
Lecture The theoretical contents of the programme will be taught, with the active participation of the student. Attendance is not compulsory to pass the course.

Personalized attention

Personal tuition
Description
Tutorial sessions will be held in the classroom (fixed in the official timetable), which will be compulsory. Their purpose is to monitor the different activities in which the student has to be involved, including the discussion of the case studies, resolving any doubts that may arise. They will also be used to tutor the work that the groups will have to do, to carry out their exposition or even certain assessment tests.

Assessment
  Description Qualification
Lecture The interest and motivation of students towards the acquisition of theoretical knowledge will be continuously assessed. Active participation in the development of the sessions will be especially important and their capacity for analysis, criticism and respect for others will be assessed, as well as their positive attitude and attentiveness. 5% de la nota final
Case study Continuous assessment that will take into account the active participation and attitude of the students in the resolution of the cases presented. The quality of the solutions and recommendations put forward will also be assessed, as well as the students' ability to defend and reason their arguments and to debate and criticise those of their classmates with respect, when appropriate. 10% de la nota final
Simulation The attitude and the quality of the conclusions drawn by the students in relation to the theoretical concepts will be taken into account. 5% de la nota final
Objective short-answer tests In general, there will be two tests. In order to be able to pass them and eliminate material, it will be necessary to obtain, in each of them, a mark equal to or higher than 5 out of 10. 50% de la nota final
Objective multiple-choice tests They will be carried out, in general, at the end of each subject and/or thematic block, in order to assess the degree of assimilation and understanding of the contents taught. 10% de la nota final
The quality of the work carried out will be assessed on the basis of its structure, the analysis of the information gathered, as well as the quality of the oral presentation and defence, assessing the ability to respond to the questions posed. THIS IS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO PASS THE COURSE, BOTH IN THE FIRST AND IN THE SECOND ORDINARY EXAM. 20% de la nota final

Other comments and second call
FOR THE CALCULATION OF THE FINAL GRADE IN THE FIRST ORDINARY EXAM, IT IS NECESSARY TO HAVE PASSED ALL THE MANDATORY TESTS SEPARATELY. FAILURE TO PASS ANY OF THEM MEANS THAT THE AVERAGE WILL NOT BE CALCULATED WITH THE REST OF THE ASSIGNMENTS TO BE DONE.

Students who wish to do so may attend the revision of the partial tests upon request by e-mail. In the case of ordinary exams, it will be compulsory to request the revision through the virtual secretary's office. The request for revision implies assuming all the consequences that may arise from it. The mark will not be modified unless an error has been made when adding up the scores of the questions or when making the correction. This modification may be either to raise or lower the mark if the case arises.

Class attendance will not be compulsory for any student, but they will have to notify their intention to attend or not during the first week of the course, this decision being irrevocable. The evaluation criteria that will be applied to students who decide not to attend class will be made public on the moodle platform at the beginning of the course. Students who decide to attend regularly will have to attend at least 80% of the classes and participate actively during the course. If they fail to do so, the same evaluation criteria will be applied as for students who do not attend class, with a penalty of one point on the final grade (except in the case of force majeure, which will be assessed by the teacher).

For the second ordinary exam, there will be a final exam, in which students will have to answer questions about all the contents they have not passed during the semester and which will account for 70% of the final mark. There will be a new deadline for submitting the work to be assessed during this period. It is compulsory in order to pass the course in this exam period.

During the development of the tests it will not be allowed to handle any material except blue or black biros (written tests with pencil or any other writing instrument with non-permanent ink will not be collected or evaluated). In order to take any of the tests, students must present their ID card or any other document that identifies them. In case of failure to present it, the teacher reserves the right to refuse admission to the exam.

The possession and use of mobile and/or electronic devices is strictly forbidden during the tests. The simple possession of such devices, as well as unauthorised notes, books, folders or other materials during the assessment tests, will result in the immediate withdrawal of the exam, expulsion from the exam and a failing grade, and the incident will be reported to the Academic Authority of the Centre so that they can carry out the actions set out in the Guidelines for Action in Cases of Plagiarism, Copying or Fraud in Exams or Assessment Tests, approved by the Standing Committee of the Governing Council on 29 January 2015.

In the December exam session, an exam will be held which will account for 100% of the final mark. This exam may consist of multiple choice questions and short answer questions, as well as the resolution of a practical case in which the student has to apply the contents of the subject in a reasoned manner.
