General description This is the third compulsory English subject for the students of the Degree in International Trade. As an ESP oriented subject (English for Specific Purposes), students attending classes are required to improve their communicative competences in the kind of English which is normally employed in the field of trade and international business operations. Skills to be practised will have both a reception and a production perspective (oral comprehension and expression, reading, writing and translation). The subject INGLES 3 will focus in the progressive and integral improvement of the linguistic competences to achieve a fluent and complex level of usage of the English language in the context of international business.

  Description
Laboratory practicals Short term seminaries at the Language Lab and at the computer classroom, in which students will practice both pronunciation and phonetics and electronic resources and web pages available for research and application to the different contents of the course.
Personal tuition Individual assesment tutorials for students, aimed to develop some complementary training activities lead by the teacher, oriented to answer questions and help in the planning and development of both personal and group work.
Problem solving, classroom exercises Group sessions with teacher support and supervision, aimed to discuss and solve some of the proposed exercises and tasks, as well as the contents previously worked by the students.
Tutorship of group Scheduled tutorial time programmed by the teacher in small groups or individually, depending on the number of registered studentsin the subject and the teaching load of work. In these sessions, doubts about theoretical and practical aspects of the subject, as well as other content related issues, will be clarified.
Presentations / expositions Oral presentations in English, carried out either by the class groups or individually, on issues related to the specific framework of International Trade and Business.
Lecture Theoretical-practical sessions on the program contents, carried on by using oral exposition and presentations, whiteboard, computer projector and the usage of support materials availables in Internet.

“Durante el desarrollo de las pruebas no se permitirá manejar ningún material a excepción del previamente indicado y permitido por el profesor. Queda terminantemente prohibida la tenencia y el uso de dispositivos móviles y/o electrónicos durante la celebración de las pruebas. La simple tenencia de dichos dispositivos así como de apuntes, libros, carpetas o materiales diversos no autorizados durante las pruebas de evaluación, supondrá la retirada inmediata del examen, su expulsión del mismo y su calificación como suspenso, comunicándose la incidencia a la Autoridad Académica del Centro para que realice las actuaciones previstas en las Pautas de Actuación en los Supuestos de Plagio, Copia o Fraude en Exámenes o Pruebas de Evaluación, aprobadas por la Comisión Permanente del Consejo de Gobierno de 29 de enero de 2015”.

Students not achieving the minimum required marks in any of the task-essays and oral presentations composing the ordinary evaluation of the subject, will have to repeat those parts again at the "Segunda Convocatoria" (Extaordinary Evaluation). Failing just one of those parts again in "Segunda Convocatoria", will imply failing the whole subject.

Students not following the ordinary evaluation of this subject, and presenting directly to the "Segunda Convocatoria", will be required to provide ALL the task-essays composing this subject, and they will have to prepare their corresponding Oral Presentations. The day of the exam, the teacher will select one of those previoulsy delivered task-essays, and the student will have to carry on its Oral Presentation in English. The final mark will consist on the average score of marks achieved in the written task-essays, plus the mark achieved in the Oral Presentation.

Concerning students attending the "Convocatoria Extraordinaria de Diciembre", there will be a single exam, which will include the writing of a task essay on issues related to international trade, as well as its corresponding oral presentation.

"During the performamce of evaluation activities, no background material will be allowed to be used except the previously indicated and allowed by the teacher. It is strictly forbidden to keep mobile and/or electronic devices during these evaluation assesments. The simple fact of being in posession of the afore mentioned devices and tools, as well as books, class notes, briefcases or any other non authorized material during an evaluation session will imply the inmediate withdrawal of the exam paper, the removal of the student from the evalation room, and the subsequent mark as "failed" in the subject. The teacher will communicate the incident to the Faculty Academic Authorities so that they iniciate the formal actions as specified by the University of Leon in cases of plagiarism, copy or cheating during exams and evaluation sessions, rules approved by the ULE Governing Body, 29 January 2015" Students not achieving the minimum required marks in any of the Task Essays composing the regular evaluation of the subject, will have to repeat those Essays again at the "Segunda Convocatoria" (Extaordinary Evaluation). The parts of the subject subject corresponding to class attendance and phonetic sessions (over 1 mark in total) will not be recovered during the "Segunda Convocatoria". Concerning students attending the "Convocatoria Extraordinaria de Diciembre", there will be a single exam, which will include the writing of a Task Essay in English, on an issue related to the field of International Trade (over 5 points), followed by its Oral Presentation in English (over 4 points). The parts of the subject corresponding to class attendance and phonetic sessions (over 1 mark in total) will not be recovered during the "Convocatoria Extraordinaria de Diciembre".
