Contenidos
Bloque Tema
The content of the course reflects the level and structure of the Cambridge Advanced exam (level C1) for all language skills - writing, speaking, listening and reading. All language skills will be dealt with each week in class.
Reading: Students can understand long and complex factual and literary texts, appreciating distinctions of style. Students can understand specialised articles and longer technical instructions, even when they do not relate to the field of tourism. All language skills will be dealt with each week in class.
Writing: Students can write in clear, wellstructured text, expressing points of view at some length. Studnets can write about complex subjects in a letter, an essay or a report, underlining what they consider to be the salient issues. They can select a style appropriate to the reader in mind. All language skills will be dealt with each week in class.
Listening: Students can understand extended speech even when it is not clearly structured and when relationships are only implied and not signalled explicitly. Students can understand television programmes and films without too much effort. All language skills will be dealt with each week in class.
Speaking: Students can present clear, detailed descriptions of complex subjects integrating subthemes, developing particular points and rounding off with an appropriate conclusion. All language skills will be dealt with each week in class.
The language of Tourism: This course will build on previous courses and will continue to address the areas of tourism related to the creation, promotion, and selling of typical tourism products and will present students with the English they need for face-to-face contact with tourists and holidaymakers. Listening, reading, speaking, and writing activities throughout the course will give realistic and communicative practice of the language skills needed in tourism. Students then will develop these skills through a project work which will encourage them to take an active role in the learning process. All language skills will be dealt with each week in class.
Students will also carry out an online intercultural exchange with a partner class in another country. This will involve communicating and collaborating with the partner class on a regular basis based on tasks provided by their teachers. All language skills will be dealt with each week in class.

Las tutorias se realizaran de forma individual y serviran de apoyo a las tareas que el estudiante debe realizar en el aula y online. Se recomienda petición previa via email

Otros comentarios y segunda convocatoria

Para poder aprobar la asignatura es necesario aprobar al menos 4 de las 5 pruebas de evaluación (1. Writing, 2. Reading, 3. Listening 4. Language in use y 5. Evaluación Continua).

En el caso de que dos o más pruebas estén suspensas, la nota final será la media de todas las suspensas.

En la segunda convocatoria solo se repetirán las partes suspensas. En el caso de que los estudiantes suspendan la evaluación continua, tendrán que realizar un examen oral. 

A partir de la 2a. convocatoria, los estudiantes tendrán que aprobar al menos 4 de 5 partes: 1. Examen oral (20%) 2. Reading (20%) 3. Listening  (20%) 4. Language in use (20%) 5. Writing (20%).

Durante el desarrollo de las pruebas no se permitirá manejar ningún material. Queda terminantemente prohibida la tenencia y el uso de dispositivos móviles y/o electrónicos durante la celebración de las pruebas. La simple tenencia de dichos dispositivos así como de apuntes, libros, carpetas o materiales diversos no autorizados durante las pruebas de evaluación, supondrá la retirada inmediata del examen, su expulsión del mismo y su calificación como suspenso, comunicándose la incidencia a la Autoridad Académica del Centro para que realice las actuaciones previstas en las Pautas de Actuación en los Supuestos de Plagio, Copia o Fraude en Exámenes o Pruebas de Evaluación, aprobadas por la Comisión Permanente del Consejo de Gobierno de 29 de enero de 2015
