General description | Introduction to industrial automation. The course has 5 modules. The first one deals with general aspects of industrial automation, such as the automation pyramid. The second module describes the field instruments and their interaction with the control equipment. The third module provides a general view of industrial controllers, main functions and types: PLCs, DCSs and industrial PCs. The fourth module focuses on the programming languages for industrial controllers. The last module introduces industrial robotics, emphasizing the most relevant features of an industrial robot in the context of automation. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
