Objetivos
The main objective of the subject "Numerical Simulation in Engineering" is to be able to model and solve mathematical and engineering problems which require numerical simulation techniques, either because the exact solution is not known or very expensive to obtain, or because random processes are involved.

Methodologies

Warning: this subject belongs to an old curriculum (study plan), and is not taught anymore.

When the subject was taught, the methodologies were the following:

- master lessons (usual lectures)
- practical lessons in computer lab, with the professor's assistance.
- practical exercises and team work outside of the classroom.
- use of computer software to perform calculations, simulations and checking of results.
