General description Water resources are limited resources that play a key role in the development of an area and it is necessary to ensure that they are managed in a sustainable manner. This situation is expected to become more difficult in the face of potential climatic changes and inadequate uses that may alter the amount of the available resource. The aim of this course is for the student to learn some of the methods that exist to estimate its availability by using Geographical Introduction Systems to calculate the value of the main variables that intervene in the process, as well as to learn the basic principles of the water footprint as a management tool that allows for the evaluation of its impact on the hydrographic basin as a whole.
