MAIN OBJECTIVE: To develop the skills and attitudes necessary to understand and produce oral and written texts in English in the academic fields of music and education.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:

1. To understand and produce written texts a) meeting their personal and professional needs (letters, reports,...) in the academic fields of music and education.

2. To develop the skills and attitudes necessary to exchange oral information and opinions about a) music and b) education.

3. To familiarise the students with bibliographical resources on their study matter, e.g. leaflets, academic books, textbooks, journals and magazines, Internet,..." "

SECTION I. English specific to music.	VOCABULARY. Musical terms. Instruments. Music genres. Musicians. GRAMMAR. Articles. Comparisons. Compound nouns and adjectives. Verb tenses. Phrasal verbs. FUNCTIONS: Personal descriptions. Expressing likes and dislikes. Describing and narrating past and present experiences related to music. Offering and understanding information about music.
SECTION II. English specific to education	VOCABULARY. Educational systems. Kinds of schools. Music lessons. GRAMMAR. Imperative. Modal verbs. Passive voice. FUNCTIONS: Comparing different educational systems in the world: expressing personal opinions about their strong and weak points. Expressing opinions about teaching.
