Description | |
Lecture | The theoretical lectures, will be given as master classes with the support of audiovisual media, encouraging student participation. Individual and group activities will be proposed. |
Problem solving, classroom exercises | Different problem solving activities will be carried out in the classroom which will be discussed by the whole group later. |
Laboratory practicals | Animal histologyc microscopic preparations will be examined to identify the different types of cells and tissues and the microscopic anatomy of some organs of interest for podiatry. Virtual preparations will also be used to review and deepen the subject. In each session, review activities from previous sessions will be carried out. Attendance is mandatory. In case of not being able to attend, it must be duly justified. In case of not being able to attend for justified reasons, changes between groups will be accepted, previously communicated, |

Assessment |
Description | Qualification
Laboratory practicals | A continuous evaluation of the student will be carried out taking into account the attendance, attitude and participationa s well as the grades obtained from the different activities carried out. | 15%
Mixed tests | To pass the course it is necessary that the exam of the Ordinary Call is approved. This exam consists of two parts: theory and practical. The theory exam consists of a test and open questions. To pass this exam, at least a 4 out of 10 must be obtained in the test and a 5 out of 10 in total with the open questions results. The practical exam will consist of the identification of histological images and at least a 5 out of 10 must be obtained to pass it. It is necessary to pass both exams to pass the course. In case of passing one of them, you have the option of using the grade obtained in the second call and presenting yourself only to the failed part. The theoretical part is worth 40% of the final grade, and the practical part is 20%. Only if the final exam is passed in its entirety, the rest of the grades corresponding to the continuous evaluation (short questions, tests, attendance, etc.) will be applied. If a student does not pass the exams, the marks of the continuous evaluation will not be added. There will be a partial exam of Block I in the middle of the semester, with the same structure as the final theory exam. To pass this exam you will need at least a 6 out of 10. If passed, this part will be released and the grade will be proportionally applied to the final grade (Ordinary Call for the current course, both the first and the second). Otherwise, this block will be examined in the final exam. |
50% | |
Others | A continuous evaluation of the student will be carried out taking into account the attendance, attitude and participation and grades from the different activities carried out during the B1 sessions_Problem solving /exercises in the ordinary classroom (tests, questions to develop, review exercises). | 35%
Other comments and second call
The use or mere possession of mobile phones or any electronic device is prohibited during the corresponding exam or evaluation test. SECOND CALL In the second call, the subject will be passed by obtaining a grade equal to or greater than 5 points out of 10. The final grade will be the sum of the score obtained in the exam (80%) plus the continuous assessment grades (20%). To add the marks corresponding to the continuous evaluation it is essential that the exam is approved. If the theoretical or practical exam was approved in the first call, it will not be necessary to take that part and the corresponding qualification will be saved. It can be presented to raise a grade for an approved part, but the second grade will always be applied, even if it is lower. |

Other comments | |
The study must be based not only on class notes, but also on the recommended bibliography, and it is essential that the study is always carried out in the company of an Atlas of Human Histology. You can also find all the contents of the course, instructions and this teaching guide on the web page of the course. To face the course successfully, it is necessary to have general knowledge of Biology. It is recommended to have completed a Baccalaureate of Sciences with courses related to Biology and related (Anatomy, Chemistry, etc.). In case there is no previous basis, it is recommended to use the resources provided by the University (such as 0 courses) and communicate it to the teachers to make the appropriate adaptations. |
