General description Basic concepts and methods, as well as the main theories and research tools used in the study of those disciplines that focus on relation between language and society. Two point of views will be considered: linguistic approach (language variation due to social factors) and social perspective (social implications of linguistic diversity and Language contact). The general perspective will be completed with a special attention to the impact of these phaenomena on Spanish.
