Methodologies
Methodologies   ::  
  Description
Problem solving, classroom exercises They consist on the proposal by the professor and the resolution in the regular classroom of exercises of legal argumentation, which will facilitate the fixation of concepts obtained in the lecture sessions and in the hours of personal work.
Personal tuition Personalized attention in tutorials allows students to solve questions related to the development of the subject. It should be noted that, in addition to face-to-face tutorials, whether individual or in groups, students have the option of obtaining personalized attention through the different electronic platforms of the University of León.
Assignments The development of the Students course work is carried out according to the criteria established by the Faculty and the Program, and in relation to those parts of the syllabus that are considered more important for the learning process. Its objective aims at consolidating the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the classroom, but also to enhance the student's self-learning, and his initiation to the research applied to the object of his work. The approach, development and conclusions of the work can be evaluated.
Lecture The theoretical teaching will be developed mainly through theoretical classes or lectures about the essential contents of the syllabus of the subject. The development of these classes will be carried out with a practical approach, facilitating the understanding of the subjects related to the program. In the master session, the professor will lecture on each of the theoretical contents of the program, exposed and analyzed according to a contrasted teaching system that may include the pure theoretical exposition as well as the dissertation interspersed with cases, examples and materials that facilitate the understanding. Although the burden falls primarily on the presentation, students have the opportunity to ask questions and concerns about the subject matter of the lecture. Likewise, they will be able to respond to the questions that the professor formulates in the course of his explanations.

Description
The tutorials fulfill a very important guiding function with respect to the students, regarding pedagogical criteria and content of the subjects, serving especially to resolve doubts and to acquire guidance on the most appropriate study techniques to prepare the subject. In fact, personalized attention in tutorials allows students to solve questions related to the development of the subject.

It should be noted that, in addition to face-to-face tutorials, whether individual or in groups, students have the option of obtaining personalized attention through the different electronic platforms of the University of León.

Also note, that this subject is included in the English Friendly programme of the University of León, which offers tutorials and materials in English upon request. In addition, the possibility of taking the exam in English is offered in cases where the student requests it.

Problem solving, classroom exercises The practical sessions are used to consolidate and to apply the theoretical knowledge obtained in the theory sessions, introducing the student to the business reality and encouraging them to undertake the task of resolving legal interpretation, through which the student is trained in the task of solving real-life legal-business problems. In this way, the student will eventually acquire the necessary skills for the practical application of the law. These practical sessions will involve the resolution of exercises formulated by the professor, being at the discretion of the latter the precise modality of the exercises and the specific aspects of the program to which they refer.

The evaluation criteria are based on the quality, rigor and conclusions obtained in the resolution of problems/exercises.

Assignments As a supplement to the theoretical and practical sessions, the teacher will ask the students to prepare papers on those aspects of the program that, in the teacher's opinion, are of special formative interest for the students.

Other comments and second call

Evaluation systems:

  • a written test, for the purpose of between 25% and 50% of the grade; 
  • a practical case study of between 10% and 25%;
  • Continuous evaluation by delivery of work has a load for evaluation purposes of between 25% and 50%.

The work submitted may be reviewed with an anti-plagiarism software. If plagiarism is detected, the work will be graded as failed. During the evaluation tests it will not be possible to use electronic resources (calculators, tablets, phones, computers, etc.), except for those tests that under express indication of the teacher require the use of any of these resources. In case of any irregularity during the celebration of the corresponding exam or evaluation test, the student will be immediately withdrawn from the exam, expelled and graded as failed. In any case, what is established in the internal regulations of the ULe included in the document "Guidelines for action in cases of plagiarism, copying or fraud in exams or evaluation tests" (Approved by the Standing Committee of the Governing Council 29/01/2015, and any modifications that may be passed by the University of León) will be taken into account.

It is recalled that the recording of classes, tutorials or consultations with teachers of this subject either in audio, audiovisual or by any other means is strictly prohibited, unless express written authorization of the recorded faculty, which will establish the authorized uses of the same and other circumstances. In case of infringement of this rule, sanctions will be applied and legal action will be taken as deemed appropriate in accordance with current regulations.

This course is included in the English Friendly program of the University of León, by virtue of which the teacher in charge offers tutorials in English, upon request of the students who wish to do so.

"In reference to the proctoring programmes used (SMOWL) during the official exams, browsing pages outside the exam itself, unless expressly indicated, may lead to failure in this activity, at the discretion of the teaching staff. 

In the event of problems in identifying students, the teaching staff may require additional assessment activities via videoconference. The conditions of these tests may be conditioned by connectivity, lighting, etc. It is the students' responsibility to follow the instructions received in this respect, as well as to protect their privacy by taking the exam in an appropriate environment (isolated, with good connection, lighting, etc.).
